The Tamil Nadu Global Investor Meet (GIM) 2024 has Australia as a country partner. You are cordially invited to join the group of Australian exporters in the “Team Australia Pavilion” at the GIM 2024 by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), in collaboration with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Centre for Australia India Relations, and Australian States & Territories.

This is a rare chance for Australian companies to learn about the potential of the second-largest state economy in India, which is projected to grow from its current US$350 billion to US$1 trillion by 2030. Over the past few years, the state GDP has grown by more than 8%, above the national average for India. Tamil Nadu boasts three distinct advantages: a highly qualified workforce, a high percentage of female engagement, and innovative manufacturing.

On his first trip to Tamil Nadu and Chennai in October 2023, Australia’s High Commissioner to India, Mr Philip Green, declared his country would be a partner in the GIM. “With its high level of human capital and industrial character, Tamil Nadu is a natural place to engage constructively with Indian businesses and scale up Australian innovation,” the speaker stated. The High Commissioner is excited to meet participating Australian firms at the GIM, which she will be attending. 

Networking opportunities will be provided to Australian businesses attending the event with senior officials from the Australian Government, the Tamil Nadu State Government, prominent industrialists, and possible customers and business partners. Along with showcasing Australia’s appeal as a place to live, work, study, and travel, the event will serve as a platform for supplying resources and skills to Tamil Nadu’s supply chains.  

The Team Australia Pavilion at GIM 2024 will provide open exhibition space for enterprises in Australia to co-exhibit, in addition to a parallel conference session with 22 distinct subjects. Vibrant Gujarat:

From January 10–12, 2024, in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, there will be a Team Australia delegation attending the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit.

Australian businesses have a unique opportunity to investigate trade and investment potential in west and north India by attending Vibrant Gujarat, the largest trade event in India. Numerous major Indian corporations participate in the Summit, which is hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and offers a forum for meeting influential figures in both business and politics.

The themes of Industry 4.0, Technology and Innovation, and Transitioning Towards Sustainability are the focal points of this year’s Summit. We want Australian companies involved in advanced manufacturing, digital health and innovation, renewable energy and net zero connected technologies, vital minerals, education and skills, and advanced manufacturing to think about becoming a part of the Team Australia delegation.

Similar to the Tamil Nadu Global Investor Meet, Vibrant Gujarat will have Australia as an official partner country. Consequently, there will be sectoral workshops, an Australia Pavilion, and a specific Australian country session.
