Services of Maldivian Airlines
Maldivian operates a fleet comprising of 1 Airbus A321 (6 business class, 194 economy class seats), 1 Airbus A320 (14 business class, 138 economy class seats), 2 Dash8-200 series (37 seats), 8 Dash8-300 series (50 seats) and 11 DHC-6 Twin Otter aircrafts (seaplanes- 15 seats) on connecting the country’s Capital city Male’ (from Velana International Airport) to Hoarafushi Airport (Haa Alifu), Hanimaadhoo International Airport (Haa Dhaalu Atoll), Kulhuduffushi Airport (Haa Dhaalu Atoll), Funadhoo Airport (Shaviyani Atoll), Maafaru International Airport (Noonu Atoll), Ifuru Airport (Raa Atoll), Dharavandhoo Airport (Baa Atoll), Kudahuvadhoo Airport (Dhaalu Atoll), Thimarafushi Airport (Thaa Atoll), Koodoo Airport (Gaafu Alifu Atoll), Kaadedhdhoo Airport (Gaaf Dhaalu Atoll), Maavarulu Airport (Gaaf Dhaalu Atoll), Kadhdhoo Airport (Laamu Atoll), Fuvahmulak Airport (Gnaviyani Atoll) and Gan International Airport (Addu Atoll).
Maldivian Airlines
On 23 April 2009, the Government under a Presidential decree incorporated Island Aviation Services Limited as a limited liability company, one hundred percent owned by the Government of Maldives. The airline began operations with three aircraft; a Bombardier Dash 8 Q200; and a Dornier 228, and served only domestic airports within the Maldives. The airline commenced its international flights on 26 January 2008 with scheduled flights to Thiruvananthapuram, India. On 25 August 2008, the airline division of Island Aviation Services was re-branded as Maldivian.
Flight Q27100, a Viking Air De Havilland DHC-6-200 aircraft with registration marks 8Q-IAG, suffered an accident during three failed take-off attempts at Nature’s Paradise Island at 0926 hours on 16 November 2017. The aircraft had 12 passengers and three crew members destined to Velana International Airport. The aircraft experienced substantial damage.

Refund Policy
The ticket which is totally un-used by the passenger.In the event that the ticket is totally unused by the passenger, the full amount paid will be refunded less any cancelation fee determined by the applicable Maldivian’s fare rules.Refund request of totally un-used tickets will be only accepted, if it is in compliance with this Policy and if submitted within the fare validity and applicable fare rules of the document.The ticket which is partially used by the passenger:
In the event that the ticket is partially used by the passenger, the refund will be the difference between the fare paid (including taxes and charges) and the next applicable one way fare of the actually used coupons (including taxes and charges) as determined by the applicable Maldivian’s fare rules less any cancelation fees determined also by the applicable Maldivian’s fare rules.
Refund request of partially un-used tickets will be only accepted, if it is in compliance with this Policy and if submitted within the fare validity and applicable fare rules of the document.
